Lisieux Region was established & inaugurated by Late Rev. Mother Pauline, the then Superior General on 6 June 1985 with 10 Communities. Rev. Mother Audry was appointed as the 1Regional Superior & St Jude’s Convent at Jhansi was the Regional House. On 6 May 1988 Rev. Mother Pauline took over as the Regional Superior and on 30 October 1989 Foundation stone was laid for the Regional House at Hasari, Jhansi by Rt. Rev. Fredrick D’Souza, the Bishop of Jhansi. On 7 January1991 Rev. Sr. Shantal was appointed as the Regional Superior and on 24 August 1991, the new Regional house was blessed. Rev. Sr. Archana took over as the fourth Regional Superior on 18 December 1993 and on 3 May 1994Lisieux Region was raised into Province. 1 st Provincial Chapter was held at St. Joseph’s Convent, Delhi from 11 th to 14 th June 1994, presided over by Rev. Mother Marina, the Superior General &Rev. Sr. Archana was elected as the 1 st Provincial Superior and in 1996 was re elected for a second term.
The treasure chest of the Province is 134 sisters who are engaged in various apostolic activities in 23 Communities spread out in Seven States and 12 dioceses. There are 8 Schools, I Hospital, 5 dispensaries, 1 Leprosy Centre, 1 Home for the aged, 1 crèche cum play way, 7 Girls Hostels & 4 Vocational Training Centers. Sisters are rendering their services in 13 Diocesan schools. Lisieux Province is divided and Little Flower Province is formed out of it.
