Bifurcated from Avila Province, St. Teresa Region was established on 2 June 2018. Rev. Sr. Suchita the Regional superior, Rev. Sr. Pheelima, Rev. Sr. Mamta, Rev. Sr. Bella, the Regional councilors administer the Region in its embryonic stage. There are 65 sisters serving in 12 communities that are spread across Asansol, Raiganj, Krishnagar, Kollam and Jamshedpur Dioceses. Two are collaborating with OCD friars at Manjummel Province in the Rayagada Diocese Odish and two others team up with Vincentian Fathers at Chotpora, Raiganj Diocese, and West Bengal for retreat ministry. One sister assists the Salesians of Don Bosco for the prison ministry, in the Central Correctional Home Berhampure, West Bengal. All the others are engaged in Education, Healing and Pastoral Apostolate respectively. We have fully fledged ICSE English Medium at Bolpur, another two at Padappakara, Kerala and Berhampore, West Bengal at a progressive endeavor. In collaboration with the diocese, the sisters also carry the Education Ministry in 3 Bengla Medium schools and in ICSE English Medium School of Jesuits at Raiganj. Several differently abled children are educated in Mother Eliswa Special School at Asansol. Nearly thousand tribal girls studying in English or Bengla Medium schools accommodated in eight Boarding houses the Region. The Mother Eliswa Social Centre at Padappakara, Kollam facilitates self employment to the young women in the vicinity and North Indian states as well. The Eliswan Alternative Health Care Centre at Asansol, Bolpur Carmel Bhavan Health Centre at Monigram has become oasis for the ailing milieu of the society. The sisters also reached out to the people of God through Pastoral activities for the Faith Formations in collaborating with the parish Priests in the parishes.
